It's hard to sort through all the stuff on YouTube to find the good stuff. I've spent a few years now finding and curating my YouTube subscriptions and feeds.
Since not everyone is a YouTube expert, let's define some terms:
- Channel: A creator’s personal page where all their videos, playlists, and information are stored. Think of it like a profile or homepage for a content creator.
- Subscription: Following a channel so you can easily find their new videos in your subscriptions feed. Subscribing is free and helps support creators.
- Playlist: A collection of videos grouped together, often by topic or series. Playlists let you watch videos back-to-back without searching for the next one.
- Live Stream: Real-time video broadcasts where creators can interact with viewers through live chat.
- Shorts: Vertical videos up to 60 seconds long, designed for quick, engaging content.
- Algorithm: The system YouTube uses to recommend videos based on your watch history, subscriptions, and preferences.
- Monetization: How creators earn money from their videos through ads, memberships, or sponsored content.
